We have more news on Avengers: Infinity War cast as its premiere is nearing.
According to the Russo brothers, The Leftovers actress Carie Coon is among the cast of Thanos' Black Order. As the Mad Titan finally takes the job into his glove, Infinity War features a large cast of superheroes who defend the Infinity Stones from Thanos' invasion. His assault force on Earth's mightiest heroes includes the deadly and vicious Black Order, whose voice (and probably mo-cap) actors are revealed.
Speaking with RadioTimes, Joe and Anthony Russo said Coon is playing Proxima Midnight. The only female Black Order member, Proxima Midnight is seen in Infinity War trailers as she throws her weapon of choice, a spear, at Captain America. She's such a fierce killer, and we are excited to see Coon's performance. The actress was recently nominated at the Primetime Emmy for her work in the third season of FX's Fargo. You may also remember her in Gone Girl and The Post, and Coon is playing one of the four main characters in Steve McQueen's crime caper Widows.
The Russos also revealed that Irish actor Tom Vaughan-Lawlor (Daphne) is playing Ebony Maw, the telekinetic terror who torments Doctor Strange. For the hulking Cull Obsidian, movie fans would be happy to know Terry Notary (Kong: Skull Island, Planet of the Apes trilogy) is behind the part. Notary is well-known for his expertise on movements and particularly, motion capture, and the Russos remarked on that, calling him " one of the most gifted movement specialists in the world right now."
However, the director duo didn't say anything about who plays the Corvus Glaive. Our bet is on someone from Arrested Development (Will Arnett?) or Community (Joel McHale?). Others suggest Game of Thrones' Peter Dinklage, but for him there might be the role of the Dwarf king who bestows Thor his newly forged Stormbreaker. Stay tuned for more updates.
