The British actor addressed an Express article about his being cast as the next James Bond.
A prank by The Express claimed that Hardy would be chosen to replace Daniel Craig as the 007 in the long-running film franchise. To have fun with his fans, Hardy posted an image on his Instagram and pretended to go along with the piece.
After Spectre, Craig showed signs of exhaustion with the role, but recently he expressed his willingness to return in one final Bond outing. However, fans and producers have been thinking about potential replacements for him. Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston, and Henry Caville were all considered, and Atomic Blonde's Charlize Theron was eyed for the role if a female Bond were plausible.
Even endorsement for Hardy is staggering, it's unlikely he will be cast. The actor is having a lot of high-profile gigs, playing the lead roles in Venom and Fonzo, so there's no reason to believe he can commit to multiple Bond films.
With Danny Boyle set to direct and a work-in-progress script, the 25th Bond installment is hoped to win over fans after the disappointment of Spectre.
