The cast of the sequel to DCEU's best film is growing.
Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones, Narcos) is joining Wonder Woman 2 in an important role, though not named yet. Filming is starting this summer after Warner Bros. & DC Films greenlit this sequel at Comic-Con International last July. With the critical and financial success of Wonder Woman among several DCEU inferior fares, the wonderful women behind this triumph--director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot--both return to continue the next adventure of Princess Diana.
After reports about Cheetah being the main villain and Kristen Wiig officially playing this Wonder Woman nemesis, the movie has recruited another talent. Pascal cheerily announced the news, via Variety, on his Twitter:
Wonder Woman 2 takes place in the later years of the Cold War era, with Chris Pine's return and a screenplay co-penned by Jenkins and Geoff Johns. Little more is known about this project, so it's too early to place a bet on which role Pascal will play and whose allegiance the character takes. One thing for sure, he has charisma to hold his ground on the big screen, as seen in last year's Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
Wonder Woman 2 is set for a November 2019 release date.
