Thor's Chris Hemsworth is considering a hiatus from acting after a year of hard work.
Aside from his main gig in the MCU, which comprises his Thor trilogy and a total of 4 Avengers movies, the Australian actor extended to side projects in Hollywood, such as the Ghostbusters remake, Snow White and the Huntsman, and most recently the war drama 12 Strong. 2017 was a jam-packed year for him with consecutive production of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4, as well as the promotion campaign for Thor: Ragnarok.
Answering The Times UK, Hemsworth opened up about his personal life:
"I want to be able to take the kids to school. I may even be off all year. It all happened at once and I've thought about it and gone, 'God, am I trying to do too much at once? There's no regret by any means. It just comes out of wanting to be [at home] more."
Ragnarok production took place in Australia, thus Hemsworth could be close to his family while facing a tight schedule.
His wife, actress Elsa Pataky (Fast and Furious movies), agreed to pause her acting career to take care of their childreen while Hemsworth focused on various projects. After a period of struggling earlier in their marriage, the couple recently met with rumors about separation. Both of them responded immediately with good humor, assuring their strong relationship.
"My wife and I were talking the other day about how the years are flying by," said Hemsworth about being with the kids in their childhood. "Our daughter [India Rose] is five and a half and the boys [twins called Tristan and Sasha] are three and a half. And however much time you do have together, it never seems like enough. It's always exhausting, even when we have help with grandparents or a nanny."
Of course, this is a hiatus from acting only. Hemsworth will definitely join his MCU co-workers for Infinity War promotion tour before its pre-summer release.
